Education is enhanced by creating a learning environment in which all stakeholders are supported in maximizing their potential and talents. Poet Virgil said, “They can because they think they can.” This is a basic tenet of philosophy of education. Demonstrating care and commitment to academic excellence in a secure and safe environment must be the priority of every educational institute and to the best interest of students. To educate all students to meet or exceed the provincial academic standards, education needs to be focused on personalized learning and instructions. It is not a case of “one-size-fits-all.” Education needs to be tailored to the individual student.
The achievement of students should be of paramount importance in a successful learning organization. The curriculum, instructional strategies, and integrated technologies, policies & designs must be ensured to enable the students to learn. It is also important to secure teachers committed to critical reflection and coach them to excel considering every individual student is different and unique. Discipline should be viewed I terms of its true purpose developing self-discipline, self-control, and respect for everyone’s rights. The focus of successful discipline should be viewed as a school wide commitment. At St. Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Nayabazar, Cuttack we ensure the development and use of unified attitudes, expectations, correction procedures, and team roles. I wish all the stake holders the best in their future endeavors.
